Contributing to our audio congratulations card for Ted Henter

Hello from the CSUN Technology and persons with Disabilities conference, where many of us at Freedom Scientific and the wider VFO family are here to exchange ideas and information.

Once we’re back to reality, one of my delightful tasks will be to assemble an audio congratulatory card for Ted Henter.

If you’ve been using blindness technology for a while, Ted’s name will be a very familiar one. He founded Henter-Joyce, the company which created JAWS and which later became part of Freedom Scientific.

It was my great pleasure to conduct an extensive interview with Ted for our podcast, FSCast. You can listen to part one here, and listen to part two here.

Due to his enormous contribution, Ted is being honored next month with the prestigious Migel Medal by the American Foundation for the Blind.

We thought it would be a nice touch to present Ted with an audio montage of congratulations from users.

If you’d like to make a contribution congratulating Ted on the award, perhaps with a few brief recollections about what JAWS has meant to you, there are two ways to contribute.

Use your PC, smartphone or other recording device to make an mp3 or m4a file, and email it to the FSCast address, spelled out here to avoid attracting the spammers,

fscast at vfogroup dot com

Alternatively, leave a message on the FSCast listener line. That number, in the United States, is (727)803-8000, extension 1010.

Thanks to everyone who has already responded to our mention of this on FSCast and left some lovely messages.

And to those of you here in San Diego, do check out all the great presentations VFO still has in store for you.
