We’ve been alerted to an issue that a small number of users are experiencing after installing the May update of JAWS 2024. If you have installed this update and can’t read web pages or email messages, this issue may be impacting you. The best and quickest resolution is to run a JAWS repair.
To run the repair, either locate the installer file on your computer, or visit the JAWS download page to run the installer once more. Windows will detect that the JAWS installer was previously run, and prompt you to run the repair.
The problem is with the special Windows registry entry, which is shared by all applications that replace files upon restart. If this entry becomes corrupted, the newly installed update can’t run properly. We are working to detect this corruption to prevent issues like this in the future.
