Do you enjoy solving puzzles as part of a team? Have you ever wanted to participate in an escape room? Sign up for our Accessible Escape Room at the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) National Convention being held July 5-10 in New Orleans.
What Is An Escape Room?
An escape room is a popular activity where a team is locked in a room, either physically or virtually, and must work together to solve a series of puzzles to escape it. Participants are given clues and a specified period of time to solve the puzzles and unlock the room.
About the Accessible Escape Room
Escape rooms are typically not accessible to people who are blind or visually impaired, preventing them from participating. The Accessible Escape Room is completely accessible so everyone can participate. It is provided by Accessible Community, Vispero, and the MITRE Corporation with help from Escape Room Loco and Zak Staszkiewicz. It enables teams made up of five members, with or without disabilities, to solve puzzles while learning about accessibility.
How to Sign Up
The Accessible Escape Room is available July 6th and 7th for those attending the NFB Convention in person. Complete the NFB 2022 Escape Room Sign-Up form to register your team of five participants. If your team has fewer than five, we will likely add members to bring it to the requisite number.
If you do not have a team and want to register as an individual, please visit the Vispero booth when you arrive at the convention. We will provide the location and directions to the Accessible Escape Room at that time.
Visit Vispero’s NFB 2022 events page for more information about the Vispero activity schedule and show specials.
