The Freedom Scientific Student of the Month program features K-12 students living in the U.S. who are blind or visually impaired and use Freedom Scientific technology to achieve educational goals. The Student of the Month for September 2021 is Cash, a fifth grader from Texas.
Cash has been a JAWS user for two years and enjoys all the customization features it offers. He especially likes using different synthesizer voices for reading books, navigating the internet, and accessing email.
In his spare time, Cash enjoys testing computer applications, and is currently learning to code using the Python programming language. He also plays audio computer games like Simon and Bop It.
When asked about his future aspirations, Cash said, “I want to start my own company developing audio games and creating text-to-speech voices like those used for JAWS. You can count on me!”
