The March update of Fusion Suite 2025 is available for download. Fusion Suite includes the Freedom Scientific software products JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion.
The March update includes new features and enhancements that will benefit all who use this software. Visit the What’s New pages for JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion 2025 to learn more about this exciting new software. Here are three new features and enhancements you’ll want to begin using right away.
FSCompanion Improvements
FSCompanion is your new AI assistant, designed to help you with JAWS, ZoomText, and other applications like Word, Outlook, and Excel. Introduced in the October release of JAWS 2025 and the December update of ZoomText 2025, FSCompanion lets you ask questions, learn how to complete tasks, find settings, and discover keystrokes. You can now open FSCompanion using the JAWS Voice Assistant. For instance, you can say, “Hey Sharky, open FSCompanion.” This launches FSCompanion in the Results Viewer, similar to pressing INSERT+SPACEBAR, F1.
Once FSCompanion is opened, you now also have the option to speak your questions via the Dictate button or a built-in keystroke.
Support for Braille Font Attribute Marks
For those who primarily read using Braille, it can be difficult to determine when text is using specific font attributes like bold, italics, or underline. Unified English Braille (UEB) and other Braille codes define dot patterns which are used as Braille indicators that may precede and follow text to identify the specific attribute being used.
Live Text View
Live Text View is a ZoomText screen magnifier feature that improves the readability of on-screen text in web browsers and other applications. It displays a continuous line of clear, easy-to-read text across the top or bottom of the screen, showing content from the cursor, mouse pointer, or focus location as you navigate documents, emails, and web pages. This content displays in a window known as the Live Text View, where you can customize the font, size, and color contrast to match your reading preferences.
Live Text View is available for preview as an Early Adopter Program feature. It currently supports single-monitor setups and is not available in remote desktop configurations or on touch screen devices.
To enable it from the Early Adopter Program dialog:
- In the ZoomText or Fusion menu, choose Help and then Early Adopter Program.
- Select the Live Text View check box.
- Click OK and restart the software.
After restarting, Live Text View appears on the Magnifier toolbar tab. It replaces the Navigation button, which is now a submenu in the ZoomText and Fusion menus.
