JAWS Turned 30
This year, we celebrated the 30th anniversary of JAWS for Windows, marking 30 years of a new era in digital accessibility. We kicked off the celebration at the CSUN Assistive Technology conference in March, where we displayed a timeline of notable JAWS features at our booth to commemorate the history of JAWS. Sharky also made a surprise appearance at the What’s New in JAWS presentation, and people took pictures with him throughout the rest of the conference.

Created The Insert J Club
In honor of the 30th anniversary of JAWS, we launched the Insert J Club, an exclusive community for users of our JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion software. It enables us to connect with you through exclusive events, online training, and in-person meetups at conferences.

Showcased the JAWS AI Training Suite
In the summer of 2025, we attended both the American Council of the Blind (ACB) and National Federation of the Blind (NFB) national conventions, where we brought back our AI Training Suite for the second year in a row. This enabled us to demonstrate our AI features, including Picture Smart AI, FSCompanion, and the JAWS AI Labeler. This gave users hands-on experience using these features and an opportunity to ask questions, plus discover many practical applications for using them at home, school, and in the workplace.
The Freedom Scientific AI Training Suite was extremely successful, and we were excited to meet all of you in attendance.
Launched Our AI Training Series
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing how we work, helping us automate routine tasks, analyze and summarize data, and generate content. In August, we launched a new training series designed to help you learn AI with JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion. This series includes live webinars and a comprehensive online guide to empower you with the knowledge and skills to increase productivity and independence in the workplace.
The series starts with the basics and builds each month, offering a deeper understanding of AI concepts and practical applications. Webinars are held the first Thursday of every month at noon ET and are archived on our Webinars On Demand page and our Learn AI page, where you can stream or download sessions anytime.
Partnered with HumanWare and APH on a Webinar About Multiline Braille
JAWS now fully supports multiline Braille output to compatible Braille displays. This is a major leap forward in Braille access, enabling users to interact with complex content more naturally and efficiently than ever before. View multiple lines and even entire paragraphs simultaneously rather than constantly panning the Braille display line by line. Multiline Braille also gives you a better representation of the structured layout in a document or web page, especially when viewing tables, charts, or spreadsheets.
We hosted a webinar with our friends at HumanWare and the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) to showcase how to use multiline Braille with the Monarch tactile and multiline Braille tablet and JAWS.
