The April updates of JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion 2023 are here. No matter which product you use, you will benefit from the new enhancements.
We strongly encourage installing new updates so you can take advantage of new features and updated performance. We regularly update JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion to stay current with Windows, browsers, Office, and other applications. Here are a few examples of new enhancements.
Enhancements to Using WhatsApp with JAWS
In the previous updates of JAWS and Fusion, we added scripts for the popular WhatsApp messaging application available from the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 and later. This update includes a few new enhancements to improve the experience when making and receiving calls, plus interacting with messages. When in WhatsApp, a sound will continuously play to indicate when a contact is typing until the other user sends the message or stops typing. Also, when you press ALT+H to move to the chat history, JAWS now places focus on the most recent message.
Smooth Panning Enabled in the Early Adopter Program Dialog
The Early Adopter Program allows you to preview new and updated product features that are in development. As we gradually introduce features, you can evaluate them and provide feedback that will help us make improvements before the final release.
In the latest updates of ZoomText and Fusion, the Smooth Mouse Panning feature introduced in the February 2023 update is now enabled by default in the Early Adopter Program dialog. This ensures the “Enable smooth panning” and “Hold Shift key for smooth mouse panning” settings in the Navigation Settings dialog are available and selected.
